This contr ibution gives an overview of the ES A-JRC global la nd products dataset It cove rs mo re then 10 years of the Fra ctionofAb sorbed Photosynthetically A ctive Radiation (FAPAR) derived from both SeaWiFS and MERIS. The long ter m period of thi s compl ementary datas ets (September 1997 - now) provide a unique opportunity for the study of the global changes issues. It can be used in large scale biosphere mod eling f or b etter e stimating the ca rbon fluxes since it directly represents the amount of solar energy which serves as a 'b attery' d uring the photosynthetic p rocess. The design of th e meth odology an d th e a ccuracies ar e first summarized and two land applications from regional to global scales are presented.
