The incineration of CCA(chromate copper arsenate) treated wood waste was conducted from 873 to 1673 K, at oxygen partial pressure from 0.21 to 0.40 atm. Increasing the incineration temperature, fraction of evaporated arsenic increased and almost 100 % of arsenic evaporated at 1673 K. On the contrary, most of chromium and copper remained in the incineration residue. The fractions of evaporation of all elements were independent of oxygen partial pressure and gas flow rate, and mostly determined by incineration temperature. It is estimated that arsenic evaporates as gaseous As2O3 and As4O6 from mass spectrometry of exhaust gas.
