RDX crystals were produced from γ-butyrolactone by a cooling method with an internal seeding technique. Amount of solvent included in RDX crystals was quantitatively analyzed and considerable reduction of liquid inclusion was founded to be possible. With an optimum cooling profile of recystallization determined at initial saturation temperature of 70°C, amount of solvent inclusion in RDX crystals was 875.8 ppm, which is much smaller than that in conventional grade RDX.
