Coal/Biomass to Liquids as a Carbon Management Option for Clean Liquid Fuels

The United States needs a portfolio of options to reduce its current liquid fuels imports requirements while at the same time responding to environmental concerns, particularly global climate change. The CBTL approach has the potential to help the nation meet its energy security and global climate change goals and create domestic jobs by efficiently utilizing domestic coal and biomass resources.
