Optimization of Wastewater Treatment Network

摘要

A simultaneous method has been developed to solve wastewater treatment networkdesign problem with wastewater treatment technology choice. The approach consists insolving optimization model of a superstructure. Adaptive random search (ARS) methodhas been used as optimization technique. The approach accounts for various objectives.Structural issues such as forbidden connections can be taken into consideration. Thetests proved that this approach is able to solve all the literature case studies reaching theresults similar or even better than those from complex approaches with the use ofsophisticated optimization algorithm.
