Plasmid DNA-loaded PLGA microspheres werefabricated by double-emulsion solvent evaporation fortwo different formulations, varying in the type ofsurfactant used in the primary emulsions, namely Tween20 and Pluronic L92. In-vitro deposition test by cascadeimpaction revealed that both microspheres displayedpotential targeted delivery to tracheobronchial region dueto its favourable aerodynamic diameter given by thecorrect geometric size distribution and reduction inintraparticle density.
