Magnetically Retainable Intra-Articular Delivery System containing Dexamethasone: Efficacy inan Antigen-Induced Arthritis Model in Mice

In order to circumvent the rapid clearance and side effectsof corticosteroids intra-articular injections, encapsulationinto magnetically retainable microparticles is proposed.Enhanced microparticle retention could be demonstratedin vivo over a 2-wks period, and decreased synovialinflammation could be obtained in arthritic mice.
