A lagscrewbolt (LSB) was developed as a simple and economical fastener for composing moment-resisting joints in glulam frame constructions. The LSBs can be used to connect lumber or glulam, which exhibits a good performance in terms of tensile strength and stiffness. However, the tensile strength performance was evaluated based on a single LSB. Therefore, it is necessary to expand research on evaluation of the tensile strength performance of multiple LSBs. In this study, the influence of the number of fasteners on the tensile strength of a LSB joint by inserting multiple LSBs was examined. It was found that (1) Tensile strength per LSB used in joints of multiple LSBs was 80 to 90% that in the joint (control) of only a single LSB; and (2) The tensile strength per LSB in a joint of multiple LSBs was the same as that of the joint of a single LSB (control) if the adjacent distance between each LSB was set at 4 times major diameter.
