In conclusion, in the paper, we have presented preliminary data on a new hole transporting material, ARL-08. The material composition will be revealed in the next paper. The material has improved hole transporting properties as compared to NPB. Further the material composition has been design to form glassy thin films for uniform covering of the electrode. The hole transporting material has been evaluated with and without doping the thin film with TCNQ. The data has demonstrated the ARL-08 molecule doped with TCNQ can injection holes from ITO and Mg:Ag contrary to common hole transporting materials only. The preliminary data shows that the light emitting devices can be fabricated with the ARL-08:TCNQ layer, however, further energy level optimization will be required to improve the device efficiency.
