This paper reports on the mechanical behavior of cement solidified dredged material (SDM) tested after 7 and 28 days of curing. The stress-strain curves, unconfined compressive strength (UCS), cohesion and internal friction angle between SDM and crushed solidified dredged material (CSDM) were compared and analyzed. Test results show that the stress-strain curves of SDM change from ductile behavior to brittle behavior as the curing time increases. However, the stress-strain curves of CSDM only show brittle behavior. The UCS of SDM increases with increasing curing time. The UCS of CSDM increases substantially in a relatively short curing time and the rate of strength increment reduces with curing time. The cohesion of SDM increases with increasing curing time. The cohesion of CSDM increases substantially after a curing period of 14 days and approaches a constant value around 28 days. The internal friction angles of SDM and CSDM do not appear to correlate with curing time. The internal friction angles lie between 20 and 30 degrees for SDM and 25 and 35 degrees for CSDM.
