In this study biosurfactant (UH-biosurfactant) was used to flush the PCE contaminated soil. The adsorption and dcsorption isotherms for PCE and biosurfactant with sand and kaolinite clay have been quantified. Transport parameters such as seepage velocity (v), diffusion (D) and retardation factor (R) of the above mentioned surfactant solution was determined in clayey soils (sand (82.5%) with 17.5% kaolinite clay mixture). In this study 0.1 g/L NaCl was used as the electrolyte solution. Convection-Diffusion equation (CDE) was used to model the breakthrough curves of the surfactant. Bromide ion was chosen as the tracer material in order to characterize the flow. The effectiveness of biosurfactant solution in flushing the PCE from the contaminated soil was quantified.
