This paper presents the performance evaluation results of a new SiC-based Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) developed by a new technology. The performance of the SiC-DPF is mainly influenced by the mi-crostructure of filter materials described in terms of the porosity and pore size distribution substantially [1]. The new technology enables the controlling of porosity and pore size distribution of the filter material with comparatively high flexibility, and the cost reduction as compared with the normal sintering process. The developed filter indicated sufficient thermal durability and high filtration efficiency which can respond to the severe regulation demanded in the future by controlling the pore size to narrow distribution, and having a suitable porosity [2].
