Healthcare facilities play a crucial role during emergencies by providing care to those in need. However, certainemergencies may require evacuating the existing patient population from the facility itself. There is often a lack ofdetailed processes, events, and resources available within a standard healthcare facility evacuation plan. The goal ofthis research is to develop an evacuation planning methodology for healthcare facilities that includes 1) a descriptionof patient transfer processes, 2) time estimates for patient transfers, and 3) considerations for changes to these timeestimates based on bed availability and emergency service vehicles within the healthcare network.
