Review of Full-Scale Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) Nitrogen Oxide Control Projects at NRG Coal-Fired Power Plants

This paper presents a status review of ongoing, full-scale selective non-catalytic reduction(SNCR) nitrogen oxide (NO_x) control projects at NRG coal-fired power plants. In addition, thevarious SNCR testing programs are described for each of the plants. Multiple SNCR controlprojects are presented, representing a wide range of boiler sizes and types. For each of the SNCRNO_x control projects, the paper provides summary background information, status, descriptionof each SNCR project including the technologies employed, key issues, schedule, expected oractual performance, and/or other information.
