Trane ECM Risk Evaluation Tool

A major challenge for energy solutions sales and engineer professionals is to weigh the risks and benefits of Energy Conservation Measure (ECM) investments for their customers. This document addresses the Trane ECM Risk Evaluation Tool, a proprietary Excel?-based tool developed by Energy Scientist and Engineer Keith Willis, Ph.D. and the Trane Americas Services and Contracting team to evaluate new and evolving ECM technologies using the Six Sigma? methodology. The Trane ECM Risk Evaluation tool is used by engineering and sales professionals as a starting point for choosing the optimal ECM measures for energy conservation projects, including Six Sigma risk-assessment analysis. The tool allows users to evaluate risk models for ECMs, as part of determining comprehensive energy solutions for buildings. This paper is an overview of the tool, which provides a thorough inventory of updated knowledge and information compiled by energy and engineering experts, along with risk assessment data.
