During transport of reservoir water through a dam foundation, physical-chemical phenomena occurred between water and the dam foundation rock and concrete, leading to changes in dam foundation water quality. We studied the hydrochemistry field of the dam foundation and found that it was an important part of the dam foundation seepage field through water quality analysis. The formation of pH value, chemical composition of water and chemical types are controlled by runoff conditions of ground water under the dam foundation.According to the characteristics of water quality, we were able to divide the dam foundation into many different hydrogeologic units, including a strong runoff band, a delay runoff band and a lone stagnant band.
