In this paper, the separation of individual Helium components has been performed with the unfractionated excess air (UA) model. The excess 4He contained in the third aquifer (Q2) at Hebei Plain is due to a crustal flux into the aquifer. Lacking the possibility of a well-constrained objective analysis of the parameters determining the He balance, the external flux and the velocity field are estimated in an iterative process using subjective tuning of a groundwater flow model. The 4He ages obtained from this model are then compared with ages derived by using other methods, including 14C dating and hydrological modeling. The ages of groundwater of Mancheng-Renqiu aquifer in Hebei Plain are 0-3.0×104a by calculation using 4He.
