INVESTIGATION OF TWO REAL FLASH-OVER INCIDENT FIRE IN THE HOTEL

This study considers a fire starter at half past five occurred in the morning in a hotel (five stars), in the middle of Rome, consisting of eleven floors of which three underground floors and eight floors above ground and is based on the investigation carried out by the Nucleo Investigativo Antincendi (NIA), the Italian Fire Department specialist unit for fire investigation. The fire, started inside a room on third floor, involved the whole floor and produced in particular, in two rooms 25 metres distance each other, a flash over. Three people died, one of them precipitated from the fifth floor balcony, and another two people died by smoke inside the bathroom of their room. The hotel model floor has a 1000 mq surface T form, longitudinal through by a central 54 metres corridor, and another cross one 19 metres; both end with window vents and have a false ceiling 2,50 meters from the floor.
