Technical Researches on Construction of 1000kV Transmission & Distribution Projects asresearch tasks (led by State Grid Corporation of China) in order to solve the difficulties to beoccurred during the construction work of UHV projects. The tasks aimed to improve theconstruction technologies, enhance the efficiency of work as well as to assure safetyproduction with standardized construction both on workmanships and facilities.Construction Workmanship Research of Erection Towers and Pulling conductors asfollowing:1.Application of standardized inside suspension gin poleAdopting standardized inside suspension gin pole with inside or outside pulling wires anddouble arms to hoist giant cross-arm of tower. This unique and wide used method to erecttowers in China was carefully researched by experts who applied suspension gin pole design.According to the requirement of National Special Equipment Management and TechnologyRegulation, final standardized equipments were produced after type tests. Standardizedconstruction workmanship for towers erection and adopt standardized suspension gin polewould promote safety of the project.2. Aerocraft pulling pilot ropeAdopting special aircraft like airship and motorized parachute to pull pilot rope could reducethe damages of the trees and crop etc. on the ground during the stringing conductors. Andwith enhanced and innovated techniques of aerocraft pulling pilot rope, could overcome thedifficulties of many barriers and complex topography of UHV lines.3. Pulling conductors with rubber coated pulleyBecause the function of poling pulley to be used during pulling conductors it will cause greateffect of the abrasion and corona to conductors, UHV projects adopted the method of usingthe rubber coated pulley to protect conductors upon comparing the result of conductorspassing through nylon pulley and rubber coated pulley.4. Synchronous stringing 8 split conductors.
