Using the submerged hollow fiber membrane module, relationship between the sludge concentration and the filtration characteristics is examined at different sludge concentration ranges between 3000 to 12000 mg/L. It is found that the accumulated filtrate volume decreased as the SS concentration increased, regardless of the iltration pressures. Because the mass of separated solids by the membrane was largest in the range of SS = 6000 - 8000 mg/L at medium filtration pressure (34.7 kPa), it is considered that the efficiency of membrane filtration is best under this SS concentration range and medium filtration pressure.
