This paper presents a flyback converter analysis by a new method of the time-stepping finite element analysis (FEA) of electromagnetic field coupled with hysteresis and circuit equations for numerical analysis of the high frequency transformer. By using the improved Preisach model, the magnetization curve of each element is calculated in each pulse width modulation (PWM) cycle. The finite element analysis considering the hysteresis phenomenon of magnetic core, all kinds of core losses, the RCD-snubber circuits, and the flyback converter electric circuit analysis are carried out simultaneously at each time step. The analysis results are compared with the measured ones.
