More than ever, in this period of economic uncertainty and low infrastructure investment, it is important to acknowledge the essential contribution of roads to the socio-economic welfare of our society and to ensure that sufficient resources are dedicated to the improvement and them aintenance of the current road infrastructure. While road owners have the responsibility of defining, proposing and implementing action plans for road infrastructure maintenance, the road industry is developing sustainable solutions for the full benefit of road users and, more broadly speaking, for the community as a whole. Academics support such a drive, using their specific scientific skills. The Pavement Preservation & Recycling Alliance (AEMA, ARRA,ISSA),the IBEF and the FP2 Inc. have decided to join their efforts and means to gather stakeholders and experts in a forum aimed at disseminating the best practices worldwide and promoting their specific knowledge. This is how and why the Pavement Preservation and Recycling (World) Summit has been designed and organized, with the support its sponsors and the partnership of specialized media. We would like to express our gratitude to the World Road Association and its Secretary General for their decisive input in the outstanding program that is proposed to you.
