摘要

The paper presents the results of the recent research undertaken in Romania for the assessment of the environmental indicators of various supply chains and technologies developed for the construction of new and recycled road pavements. The environmental performances of plain concrete versus steel fibres reinforced concrete (SFRC) alternative pavement solution have been evaluated by using a life cycle assessment (LCA) study performed with GaBi 5 software. Also, the Global Warming Potential expressed in terms of CO2e emissions has been assessed by using the TRL asPECT software. The results obtained from these studies are finally discussed and specific recommendations concerning the use of various technologies for reducing the environmental impact of the conventional concrete and asphalt pavements are given.
