The paper includes the description of the Israeli Home Front Command (HFC) full scaleexplosive tests on structures, conducted on innovative new sealed blast windows.The explosive tests included the activation of large explosive charges in front of several roomsizecubicles with sealed blast windows - feasibility tests as part of the Vine Bush 2003 testseries - and in front of similar room-size cubicles with sealed blast windows - validation tests aspart of the Vine Bush 2004 test series.The full scale test targets were sealed blast windows in reinforced concrete walls made of 20and 22 mm steel plates. Hinged and sliding sealed blast windows were tested, with one or twowings.The sealed blast windows details were improved in the Vine Bush 2004 tests, based on thefindings of the Vine Bush 2003 tests.The tests results showed the effectiveness of sealed blast windows in withstanding the blasteffects while remaining sealed against penetration of chemical/biological agents.The tests results were recorded by electronic dynamic gauges and systems as well as high-speedcameras and analyzed by advanced computer software.
