Arcing horns for interrupting short circuit current of 10 kA have been developed for 66/77 kV transmission lines to prevent lightning damage. Modelling of the arc between the arcing horns is necessary in order to investigate the effect of application of the arcing horns to actual power lines. When the Mayr arc model is used, arc parameters of arc time constant and arc power loss are necessary. This paper describes the arc parameters estimated using the measured current and voltage between arcing horns before the current zero point. The arc parameters as a function of dynamic conductance were clarified.
