Oil field community, as a welfare department of oil enterprise, is facing problems such as high cost and low quality. It mainly undertakes public functions and serves for families of oil workers. Its most processes are manual and its services are at a low level. It governs many branches and manages their funds, which are afforded by Petroleum Administrative Bureau. In current management mode, these branches often abuse their funds, waste their money and work inefficiently. It is very important to reduce cost and improve service quality under the circumstances that oil field is deepening its reformation. Oil field community management information system (MIS) based on .NET employs B/S structure. It will provide enough and exact information for oil field community managers and help them make correct decisions. It gives a good answer to the above problems from technological point. It adopts script language and Excel to input large amounts of data and improves interactive ability in B/S mode. It stores images in MS SQL Server and displays them on Web pages, which largely facilitates image management. Against low degree of security of internet/intranet, it adopts RBAC model to realize security management. Its scalability and extensibility are excellent and it can "Write Once, Run Anywhere". It fits the traits of oil field community well that are geographically dispersed users, relatively independent business and rapid change of organization.
