A Framework of New Product Developing-Oriented Knowledge Pushing System (ID: 4-031)

Knowledge collection, mining and using for new product developing (NPD) processes has received considerable attention in recent literature. For any NPD process to succeed, adequate collection and pushing to use of knowledge is important. We analyzed the process of NPD, explored the specifically knowledge used in each'phase of the process. Using the agent technology, knowledge grid and data mining technology, we propose a framework of new product developing-oriented knowledge pushing system (NPDKP). And then we studied the NPDKP architecture. It has four main entities. Each entity's functions and the system running mechanism in the architecture are researched in detail. The first entity is the knowledgebase management system which manages all kinds of knowledge in the knowledgebase. The second system is an intelligent system. In the third system, knowledge which related to certain new production is collected and refined. The flow engine and the pushing agent are used in the forth system which triggers the pushing movement. Based on this framework, NPDKP can collect and refine relevant knowledge for NPD by itself and push knowledge which the new product developer need automatically.
