It is very important to accurately identify rock minerals. Dating back to 60th of last century, infrared spectrum has been widely used to identify pure minerals. The Internal Nomination Commission of Mineral &New Mineral regulates that infrared spectrum is the basic data, from which we know the important role of infrared spectrum on mineral identification. During the identification of rock section, it is difficult to identify rock mineral with similar optical features, such as albite, oligoclase, amphibole subspecies and carbonate minerals ect. The accurate identification of rock minimal has a strong influence on the nomination of rock. For example, albite is usually produced from low-grade rock as the result of low-grade metamorphism; but oligoclase is often found in higher-grade metamorphic rock. So how to develop a new logging technique to identify rock minimal in combination of rock slice in microzone becomes one problem that we have to deal with.
