摘要

Coal has long been considered as one of important source rocks of natural gas. Large quantities of liquid hydrocarbon formed from coal have been found world widely. Evaluation of hydrocarbon potential of coal in a basin is a common task for both geochemistry and organic petrology. Laboratory pyrolysis experiments have been widely used for simulation process of hydrocarbon generation and expulsion of coal. Studies have shown that pyrolysis of coal in closed system with presence of water (termed hydrous pyrolysis) could more closely simulate natural process of oil generation and expulsion from coal than open system pyrolysis techniques. The objective of this study is to evaluate hydrocarbon generation and expulsion potential of Carboniferous coal in Bohai Gulf Basin (BGB) by using hydrous pyrolysis experiment and to assessment possibility of oil /gas contribution of the coal in the basin.
