Mechanism Study on the Interaction between Urban Transportation and Land Use

Understanding the relationship between urban transportation and land use is of great importance for solving urban transportation problems and is always a hot topic in the transportation planning field. In this paper, the authors analyzed the interacting process of urban transportation and land use, and a model that illustrates the interaction mechanism was established to predict the trend of the interacting process. Based on the stability analysis of the model, a conclusion was drawn that the interaction between urban transportation and land use will reach a state of stable equilibrium when certain conditions are met. Followed by the model establishment, an example of a simulation was given to validate stability conditions of this model. As a result of this paper, some city planning countermeasures based on the interaction mechanism were proposed.
