Combined word alignments

We briefly describe a word alignment systemthat combines two different methods in bitextcorrespondences identification. The first one isa hypotheses testing approach (Gale andChurch, 1991; Melamed, 2001; Tufi? 2002)while the second one is closer to a modelestimating approach (Brown et al., 1993; Ochand Ney, 2000). We show that combining thetwo aligners the results are significantlyimproved as compared to each individualaligner.
