FROM GLOBAL VISION OF FAMOUS RUSSIAN SCIENTISTS TO SOLAR ENERGY ACTIVITY NOWADAYS

The historical investigations in changing political systems conditions are very difficult. There is no doubt: history project devoted to contributions and dreams of our forerunners has a great importance. Answering to the questions: "Where we came from? Where are we now? Where are we going?" we better understand current situation, more and more convince in our mission to develop solar energy. During the work on Russian ISES history project we feel a certain appreciation about our forerunners with great roots, good traditions of thinking on future and future generations, and making this future better by current work. The history of Russia is quite controversial and very rich of many political changes. In spite of strong pressure of politicians many Russian thinkers, philosophers, researchers (physicists, chemists, engineers, biologists and so on) were involved and are involved in active investigation of solar energy, development of clean energy technologies. In bad economic conditions, in different political systems, under different ruling authorities Lomonosov, Mendeleev, Vernandskii, Timiryazev, Tsiolkovskii, Chizhevskii, Umov, Chayanov, Florenskii, and many others made a great contribution in basic understanding and importance of solar energy. Their heritage is not very known for foreign readers. Even advanced Russian reader can find thoughts, which are very actual and urgent now. History of people-thinkers, history of thoughts of these people should be investigated more detailed and accurate. The main task of our Russian section of ISES is to continue our best traditions, to support activity of all enthusiasts working in solar energy.The international cooperation with Russia in transition period for developing solar energy can and should be more active. It will help us to build much more efficient and better infrastructure for consumer oriented technologies. Russian ISES history is just starting and after transition period and with our strong roots we will be able to work more actively with world solar energy community, sharing our rich and diverse heritage.
