E-MAIL AND INTERNET POLICIES AND PROCEDURES:A VIEW FROM AN MIS ADMINISTRATORS PERSPECTIVE

摘要

Email is an unavoidable means of communications for all businesses enterprises. Informationtechnology (IT) managers continue to have concerns about the use of e-mail and the monitoringof the proper use of these e-mail systems. In order to deploy a systematic process for proper useof email an administrator must have an input into the development of appropriate e-mail policiesand procedures. In addition IT administrators need to understand the policies and procedures forthe management of E-mail systems. This paper focuses on the criticality of e-mail policies andprocedures as they relate to workforce use of these systems and the responsibility assigned to ane-mail administrator in the management of this usage. The paper also discusses liability issuesand how the law applies to e-mail management.
