Econazole, a novel anticancer agent, wasincorporated into phosphatidylcholine/DSPE-PEG2000liposomes. A novel series of formulations wasdeveloped utilizing ethanol permeation and/or mixedmicelles for drug loading. Asymmetric PEGylationwas explored as a means to improve drug loading inthe lipid bilayer. Several formulations retaineconazole at least 8-10 d in vitro.
