The computation of tension and power of the pipe belt conveyor, in which the resistance coefficient is usually applied now, doesn’t emboby the influence of the belt’s capability and wedgy resistance adequately. It is necessary to carry out the theoretic analysis and computation for the pipe belt conveyor when the dynamical design are increasingly important and the tool of computation are more and more maturate. The wedgy resistance of the pipe belt conveyor by way of the hexagon idler layout is studied deeply by means of solids mechanics, material mechanics and so on, and calculating examples shows a helpful result.
