摘要

Virtual Instrument (VI) is a kind of brand-new instrumental systematic concept. It is the outcome accomplished with the development of electronics technology, measurement and test sciences as well as computer technology. The concept and characteristic of virtual instrument are introduced. The LabVIEW-based virtual instrument technique is described. The key technique in process of the system development, the method of calling universal data acquisition card in LabVIEW, is presented. The paper introduces a virtual UT instrument system being developed in LabVIEW and Windows XP, which has the functions of possess systematic calibration, data acquisition, data storage, data processing. For solving the problem of slow speed, LabVIEW6.0 and VC++6.0 are combined to use in the function of data processing. The system has the advantages of function perfection, modularization, universalization, openness, visualization, friendly interface and so on. At last, the future of VI being used in ultrasonic testing is discussed.
