Study on determination method for the content of sulfide in waste water

There remain some limitation about the traditional methods of idometric and para-amino xylidine to measure the content of sulfide in wastewater. In alkaline solution, the detection content of sulfide by the UV-Spectrophotometry in wastewater was discussed in this paper, and the traditional pretreatment methods of acidification-air-stripping-absorption for determination of sulfide in wastewater have been improved. The content of sulfide in wastewater can be determined by the Extinctions. The experiment results show: The standard deviation(σ) was less than 0.1 when new methods was adopted to measure the content of sulfides for same sample of wastewater as opposed to the traditionally methods, which shows there is no prominent differences between the new method and the traditional one to measure the content of sulfide. Thus the research method is suitable for its strengths as stripping and absorbing completely, simple operation and high precision. So it is suitable for the determination to the content of sulfide in waster water.
