摘要

The aim of this study is to propose GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and RS (Remote Sensing) Technologies based on strategies to alleviate the flood hazards in Turkey.In this study, digital elevation models belong to province of Bartin in 30 m resolution, IKONOS and LANDSAT TM Satellite images of 2000 - 2005 and digital topographical maps were analyzed with ENVI (The Environment for Visualization Images) RS and ARC GIS V.9.1 software . It was seen that Goksu River Delta and Province of Bartin are still under the threat of possible flooding danger in the future. It is urgently needed to establish GIS based flood disaster management strategies to mitiage possible flooding hazards in Turkey.
