CORRECTION OF CLASSIFIED STANDARD OF WORKING IN HOT ENVIRONMENTS OF CHINA (GBZ2-2002)

In China. classified standard of working in hot environment (GBZ2-2002) is mainly evaluated by Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) index. WBGT index is a kind of environmental parameters, which can only evaluate the climatic conditions in theworking environment. However, in accordance with the different working intensities and exposure limit values, no suitable index has been developed to classify the hot working environments at present, in China. This study put forward some suggestion about the classification of different work intensities in the hot environment and purposed the recommended safety and limit exposure time for workers connected with WBGT index. 150 young men were exposed indoor for 19 different WBGT values according to the GBZ2-2002. They did light, moderate and heavy work respectively. The longest exposure lasted 240 minutes without the heat illness.Considering the standard of the World Health Organization (WHO), some suggestion was given to modify the standard of GBZ2-2002 of China.
