In Task-Ambient Air Conditioning (TAC) systems, the supply nozzle and the property of supply air will affect its thermal environment and energy consumption. A workstation simulating a typical office desk with desktop-based TAC system was established in a Controlled Environment Chamber and the thermal environment created by different property of supply air and ambient temperature was measured. The author studied the property of the supply air and supply nozzle and gave the set points of supply air and its adjusting range in this paper. By comparing the TSV and PMV, the author discussed the problems in predicting the thermal sensation of people who used a TAC system with PMV as the evaluation index.
