New developments of the Italian bridge management system

Management of bridges is a strategic activity as transport of goods and passengers will be increasing in the future, the existing infrastructure will be ageing and deteriorating and economic resources will be reducing. Management systems should involve information gathering, interpretation, prediction, cost accounting, decision making and planning of maintenance.
