摘要

The Ka-band inter orbit communicationexperiment between Data Relay Test Satellite(DRTS) on geostationary orbit (GEO) and AdvancedEarth Observing Satellite II (ADEOS-II) on lowearth orbit (LEO) was performed successfully onFebruary 19, 2003 for the first time in Japan. Theantenna pointing system (APS) of DRTS hascontrolled a large Inter-Orbit-Link (IOL) antenna,whose diameter is 3.6m, so accurately to trackADEOS-II within a very narrow angle-range of itsKa-band antenna beam. This paper shows the designof DRTS APS and summary of evaluation on orbitperformance of inter orbit communication betweenDRTS and ADEOS-II.
