Laboratory experiments are carried out to study theinfluence of coverglass on arcing phenomena in GEOenvironment. At first, we used aluminum foil to scatterthe electron beam on the whole surface of solar arraycoupon. The experiment is performed by comparingthe results between large solar array coupon(400×400mm) and small solar array coupon(240×220mm). In the result, the pulse width of arccurrent became longer when the area of solar arraycoupon becomes larger. The plasma propagationvelocity was 1.4×104m/s. In addition, we mayable to estimate the arc current waveform from thelight intensity signal.
