摘要

This paper intends to clarify how the surface roughness in die-making is influenced by tilting direction andangle of ball-end mill axis towards the work-piece by using theoretical analysis and cutting experiments. It is found thatthe optimum tilting direction and angle which get the small surface roughness exist and differ in feed direction and pickfeed direction. Moreover, the leftward pick feed direction is better than the rightward one to the cutting feed direction.
