Current research work on logic controllers for reconfigurable manufacturing systems is reviewed first. Then an open modular structure of control system of an IMRMS is put forward. The hardware and software development platform, especially a distributedComputing Environment --- real-time CORBA(RT-ORBUS), Petri net-based analysis and optimization methods of logic controllers are introduced. A controller (hardware/software ) of robots with an open, modular and standard architecture is designed and implemented . Primary tests show the structure and methods introduced inthis paper are feasible and efficient.
