With the increasing advances in automotive systems, there is often a need to perform comprehensive hazard analysisif a system is safety critical. Comprehensive hazard analysis involves the application of complementary hazardanalysis techniques throughout the product development life cycle to help confirm that potential hazards have beenidentified and eliminated or mitigated. Typical techniques include Preliminary Hazard Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis,and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.In this paper, we present an approach to comprehensive hazard analysis that supports integration and consistencychecking of a significant portion of the analysis results. This approach has been applied to automotive safety-criticalsystems, and this paper provides an example application.
