摘要

In Gran Canaria island (Canary Islands), there is a significant photovoltaic potential. More than the5% of the whole demanded energy can be generated by means of this renewable energy. However, the high cost ofthe technology and the inadequate subvention policy, are restraining its development. The aim of this paper is theestimation of the electrical power that can be obtained using grid-connected photovoltaic generation in an isolatedpower system (Gran Canaria). Another purpose of this work is to evaluate the contribution of this kind of energy inthe reduction of the emissions of contaminants like CO2 and SO2. Finally we have carried out the analysis of the real possibilities of this kind of energy in our archipelago, studying the suitability of the local and national legislation and its influence in the feasibility of the promotion of real projects.
