In this study, an exact reverse-link E_b/I_o expression for multi-cell CDMA Generalized Distributed Antenna System (GDAS) is derived, and the reverse-link capacity of various antenna structures is investigated by taking power control dynamic range into account. Our investigation shows that GDAS is a cost-effective solution compared with DWCS and distributed antenna structures (including GDAS and DWCS) are capacity-enhanced and power-saved in contrast to traditional centralized antenna structures. It is also shown that, adding more antennas to a "virtual cell" can yield further capacity and power gains for distributed antenna structures. However, the returns diminish gradually and tend to be convergent finally.
