Bell Labs Layered Space-Time (BLAST) is a promising system that realizes the enormous capacity in the future wireless communication system. For multi-stream detection there are three criterions. In this paper, we present a new scheme based on the MMSE criterion to improve the detection through power allocation over the transmit antennas. It is proved that the scheme has a 1-3dB gain over the traditional MMSE detection at BER of 10~(-3), even do better than the ML detection at high SNR values.
