Multi-axial stitched fabric is expected for the thick composite for large-scale applications such as marine field so that multi-axial stitched fabric itself has certain amount of thickness. This study focused to multi-axial stitched CFRP laminate, and evaluated the effects of impact damage on multi-axial stitched CFRP laminates manufactured by vacuum assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM) method. Impact damage inside material was evaluated by ultrasonic scanning and optical cross-sectional observation. From the comparison between two images observed, the impact damage of multi-axial stitched CFRP laminate was characterized three-dimensionally.
